Ink Dips is a more casual, laid-back ink evaluation than is normal here at Fountain Pen Follies. Instead of carefully evaluating an ink I’m interested in, the point of Ink Dips is to blindly pick an ink sample from an ink junk box — a box of the derivative or derided. Then I fill that unwanted sample in one pen and see what I think. It’s an ink experiment that’s a bit dippy.
Monteverde (Emerald) Green. This ink used to be sold as Monteverde Green, and is now sold as Monteverde Emerald Green. It’s a blue-leaning, slightly pale, middle green. It’s nicer-looking on Tomoe River paper, it looks good next to other pastel inks, it’s feathery on poor paper but it seems very safe in pens.

Seems it behaves like other Monteverde inks I have tried.
I can’t wait to see what ink is the robin egg blue color.

You found it! I totally buried the lede. Because it’s too early on that one. 🙂 But keep watching. 🙂
And yes, it’s really nice!

It is just okay to me, by looking at the photos. Thanks for sharing though!

I feel the same. It’s not a fit for me. And there are so many great greens, that this one seems like a missed opportunity for me.
But:
1. It’s the luck of the draw with Ink Dips.
2. I’ve always glad when a review or photo either prompts or saves someone a purchase.
3. This is the second time I’ve reviewed this ink, under different brands, and I’ve felt the same each time. But some people love this color. And I like it with the pretty blue ink, so I can see that.
4. It’s not even the worst Ink Dip I’ve ever used. But those are absolutely the worst lyrics I’ve ever used. Utterly nonsensical, plus bad grammar — I need to shower in Shakespeare to recover.
