Aurora Blue Black. This new ink seems like a winner: it’s a darker blue black, with nice shading, and good behavior, that’s very legible and gives a feeling of purpose and firmness. Like a boss, in every way.

Oh my, now this looks promising! I will need some of this.

Is it actually Aurora Black mixed with Aurora Blue?

No, I’m sure it’s not. The chroma of Aurora Blue Black shows a different dye than the blue dye used in Aurora Blue. I didn’t even need to pull out my chroma of Aurora Black — seeing the chroma of Blue Black next to that of Blue was enough.
Aurora Blue Black seems to be an entirely new ink for Aurora, mixed from scratch as a blue black.

Pretty much my take on it, too – welcome to the family, A B/B! Unlike Raffaello, I find it leaning more black than blue (compared to my other b/b inks), and in this I am very happy.
A bunch of people excited about a new b/b. Sad.

Laura you got a bottle early? 🙂 I enjoyed the review very much. I think I will definitely be getting a bottle of this in the future. I am anxious to see how this ink does in a wide/wider nib.

I know: lucky me!
I don’t choose wide nibs very often, but maybe I can dig up a good one for this, and post a photo. 🙂

This looks a great ink. And how exciting to be one of the first in the US to get to try it. I am thinking what ink to try next in my new Cleo Skribent (which sounds a bit like your Lamy 2000 extra fine) and this Aurora Blue Black sounds excellent. However, I already have some Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite (nice colour but bleeds more than most) and some Conway Stewart Tavy by Diamine, which I think may be the same as Diamine Denim. Decisions!

IMHO, a blue-black which appears more blue than black. I like it, anyway, as it’s a classical business ink. I always have an Aurora pen with Aurora ink on my desk …
