Pen of the Day: Pelikan M710 Toledo

The M710 is the silver version. The motifs carved into the M700 and M710 differ, though both feature pelicans. That means it’s totally justifiable to have both, right? Well, they are both charming.  If I had to rank my pens, and I don’t really do that, the two Toledos probably would be my two favorite Pelikan pens.

The silver M710 actually is my favorite, by a tiny amount.  Here is a closeup of the carving. I love the curves, from the pelican’s beak, to the stylized plant leaves.

Today’s ink is KWZ Iron Gall Green #1, which is looking at first glance like a medium green that leans blue. What I find interesting is that it doesn’t just lean blue, it leans light blue. At least, that’s what I see in the pale green shading.

  1. Thanks for adding the link to the other one! I thought this seemed familiar when I saw it yesterday! I think the KWZ Green Iron Gall suits it better than the Pelikan Brilliant Black from this summer. It’s a more spectacular ink and this is one spectacular pen!
