Seitz-Kreuznach Tomato Red is a warm red ink with pink tones, and another excellent Seitz-Kreuznach ink at a great price.

TWSBI Eco with 1.1 mm stub nib. I picked this up recently because it’s reasonably priced and should be fine for ink testing. Mostly because it’s a demonstrator, and I can watch the ink slosh around. Cheap thrills.
This one has the 1.1 mm stub, which has nice line variation. The ink is a mixture of two green inks. Seeing the ink in the section? Sweet.
I just finished making some comparisons between some inks from Montblanc, on the one hand, and Monteverde and Seitz-Kreuznach on the other.
Here are more comparisons, involving a few Stipula Calamo inks and one from Caran d’Ache.

Just to follow up, I recently fell for a lovely ink from Conway Stewart called Kingsand. But Conway Stewart is unfortunately out of business, so Kingsand won’t be available much longer. Because Conway Stewart commissioned its inks from Diamine, I had hoped Kingsand would turn out to also be a regular Diamine ink, so I could still buy it. And there’s good news: Conway Stewart Kingsand is Diamine Ochre.

Pelikan 300 with OBB nib. This is one of my few not-so-common fountain pens, a black-striped Pelikan 300. Pelikan made the 300 in green or black stripes, for export only. It’s the size of a 400 but the cap and barrel ends have the lovely curved shape of the 140.
A real 300 will say so, both on the end of the barrel and on the cap ring.
This 300 has an OBB nib, which lays down plenty of ink. Today it’s inked with the beautiful Pelikan Edelstein Mandarin.
The leaves are falling faster, bare branches are showing and chilly November arrives tomorrow. What better time to look back at my personal fountain pen highlights from October.
1. Aurora Optima 365. I really did luck out getting this pen. Just wow.
2. Fall Color Inks. So much fun to use these. Oranges, yellows, browns and reds were very October.
3. Caran d’Ache Inks. The ones I tried this month were fabulous. Just fabulous.
4. Architect’s Nib. I loved playing with Dan Smith’s broad Architect’s Nib grind. I’m going to add one soon. I’m debating between a medium and a fine. I’ll miss that broad nib, though.
