Fountain Pen Favorites for January 2016

January is the worst month in Chicago. February is almost as bad, but at least it’s shorter. But in terms of fountain pens and ink, this January was pretty darn good.  Here are some highlights.

1. KWZ Inks. I’ve really been enjoying these. Such beautiful inks, with such nice behavior.

2. Mysterious New Pen. I bought a new pen.  But as Plume says, it’s for the blog.  I’m selfless like that.

3. Learning Slowly but Surely. By the end of the month, I had started writing “2016” as the date, nearly automatically.  Oh yeah. Those gears are still turning.

  1. ooh, a shoutout *preens*

Those KWZ inks were a bit of a revelation, weren’t they! You think with so many ink brands out there, it’s a fairly saturated market (see what I did there? See??) but then it turns out there was definitely room for more!

Re: dates, I’m trying to get in the habit of dating ALL my notes. I’ve been writing up a report based on notes I took from March til December, and many of them are undated. So I’m squinting at them trying to suss out the timing going on ink color, nib and paper stock 😛 Any shortcuts to establishing this sanity-saving habit?

    1. For me the way I learned to put the date on everything was finding out how much trouble it is to figure it out later. So, on the bright side, you’re already on your way! But, in the meantime, bummer. 😦
