Montblanc 146 with broad nib. Well, I am nothing if not consistent, because I just realized that the last time a 146 was Pen of the Day, it was this very pen.
That’s not my fault, though. It’s because Montblanc makes a great broad nib. Look at this thing.
The ink is Caran d’Ache Infra Red, a red so special it had to be named for something outside the human visible spectrum.
(Although, actually, it’s now been shown that humans can see infrared light under certain circumstances. And that it looks green. So thanks, science, for wrecking everything.)
But science schmience. Ink is my thing. Caran d’Ache Infra Red ink is very visible, very red and very awesome.

Sure. For now, this link has some size comparisons of pens including the LeGrand, which is the successor to the 146, and just a bit longer.

This Montblanc of yours really loves its reds, dun it? 🙂
It is a beautiful, beautiful pen, and that is actually the first time I’m seeing this ink on the web that I like the shade.
Could you do me a fav and do a size comparison of that particular Montblanc sometimes? I’d really like to see it next to a Pelikan 600 or 100, just to see what I’d get into. I would -so- love a good Montblanc.
Thing is, the few times I tried one it either was heaven or scratchy hell to write with. That totally throws me. O.O And I so don’t get the sizes 🙂
